A Message from Our President

Dear friends, partners and visitors,

Welcome to Kamsi. In our language, Kamsi means “gather,” like a hen gathering her chicks under her wings. That is our calling: to gather children who have no one to hold them, and give them a home.

Our vision is a Bafang where no child grows up alone. Every child at the Kamsi House should be safe, loved, in school, healthy, and growing up with purpose, ready one day to give back to the community that gathered them.

The Kamsi House was born from a family's unfinished dream. Prosper Tietcheu began building it for his children; after his passing in 1993, it stood unfinished for thirty years. When the family completed it in 2023, the answer was clear: a house built for children should be filled with children. Today it is a home for sixteen girls and boys.

We also want the house to stand on its own feet. Our farm and poultry already feed the children and bring income to the center, and our next goal is a well for clean water.

During our first stage, we built the foundation in Cameroon: the house, our staff, and the trust of the community. Now begins our second mission: gathering support here in America. Every gift through Zelle and every volunteer who shares our story becomes meals, school fees, medicine and hope.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we promise to invest every donation wisely and show you the progress made.

Thank you for helping us gather them in.

With gratitude, Jeanne Tietcheu Mbonda President, Kamsi
